Aims, Values & Ethos
John Ray Infants is a values-based learning community, committed to the education of the whole child.
We teach our values through everything we do and through our daily assemblies and PSHE curriculum. Values displays are prominent in every classroom environment throughout the school.
Our School Rules are
- Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Responsible
Our John Ray Core Values are:
- RESPECT- to show positive consideration for people and the planet; to be kind, tolerant and understanding, showing mutual respect and valuing diversity
- RESPONSIBILITY - to have good judgement and the ability to make good choices and decisions, taking responsibility for their own actions as well as developing a sense of responsibility to their community
- FAIRNESS – teaching the principles of fairness, encouraging children to play by the rules and consider the impact of their actions on others, as well as thinking about how we treat everyone fairly
- CARING - promoting a community of kindness and support, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and cared for
- HONESTY - the importance of being honest and truthful in situations, and showing integrity, making the right choices
- CURIOSITY - encouraging children to ask questions and explore their environment through creative thinking and imaginative play
Alongside these, we also have our Learning Behaviours. These encourage the children to develop positive learning attitudes throughout their education. These are:
- Resilience
- Perseverance
- Cooperating
